Aasee Bocholt

The idyllic Aasee lake is just a stone's throw away from Bocholt city centre. It is a popular excursion destination thanks to its varied range of sports and leisure activities. There is a bathing bay with a restaurant where you can swim, relax and sunbathe. It is important that you observe the bathing rules and opening times (mid-May to mid-September).

But the Aasee is not just a leisure oasis, it is also often a venue for events. For example, at the Aasee Festival in summer, when a free stage and entertainment programme attracts the whole family to the bathing bay. For three days, people listen to music, play and enjoy the food trucks and drinks stalls.

There's something going on here

The extensive local recreation area offers mountain bike and skating trails, a climbing wall, a mini playing field for handball, basketball, football, a mini golf course, playgrounds and much more.

If you prefer a bit of peace and quiet, you can go for a walk or jog along the three-kilometre circular hiking trail around the lake. Motorhome pitches as well as barbecue and fishing facilities round off the offer here.

And that's not all, as the city of Bocholt is continuously pursuing the goal of further developing the Aasee and its surroundings.

Parking is available nearby at the LWL Textilwerk and at the Badebucht.

Dogs on a lead are welcome on the paths around Lake Aasee in Bocholt. However, they are not permitted on the sunbathing lawns or in the swimming area.

There is a motorhome site situated right next to Lake Aasee in Bocholt. It offers 32 pitches for motorhomes up to 8 metres in length, as well as 10 pitches for vehicles over 8 metres long. The site provides all the necessary facilities for water supply and waste disposal.

It takes about 20 minutes to walk from Lake Aasee to the historic town hall in the heart of the town. By bike, it takes about 7 minutes.
