A summer on the Berkel with music, dance, theatre and literature: this will be on offer again in 2026 on the Berkel stage in the castle park from 29 August to 13 September 2026. The "Coesfeld Berkel Summer" will then take place for the 6th time. Initiated by the Cultural Leisure Working Group of the Coesfeld Partner City Marketing Association, visitors can experience a varied cultural programme over the water during these weeks.

The special exhibition on emergency currency sheds light on a fascinating chapter in German monetary and economic history. It showcases the extraordinary variety of means of payment that were created and used in times of crisis.

Those interested can find out more about the wide range of training, study and career paths available within the Bundeswehr during one-to-one consultations. Both military and civilian career opportunities, as well as training and further education prospects, will be presented. The one-to-one consultations take place at the Career Information Centre (BiZ) of the Coesfeld Job Centre. With their favourite songs from country, blues, jazz, folk and rock, they bring warm, authentic acoustic sounds to the Berkel Stage 

The Coesfeld Local History Society invites you to a summer evening of literature and music. Light-hearted and thought-provoking texts on the themes of summer, nature, travel and home will be presented by various readers and accompanied by accordion music. The event will go ahead even if it rains. The Coesfeld Local History Society would be grateful for a donation towards the refreshments on offer.

The weekly markets take place on the Coesfeld market square every Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 to 12:30. On offer are: Bread, eggs, vegetables, fruit, cheese and many other regional products.
