Nöttler Mountain Game Reserve

The Nöttler Berg wildlife enclosure in Saerbeck is very popular with both children and adults. And rightly so! In addition to various walking trails in the 25-hectare woodland area, 40 different species of wild animals can also be observed at close quarters.

Chickens, peacocks, guinea fowl and goats are waiting for you right at the entrance. As you make your way through the wildlife park, you will come across native species such as red deer, wild boar, sheep, horses, donkeys, alpacas, foxes and lynxes. Animals such as bison, Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs and nandus, which are not actually native to our country, can also be seen here. Many of the animals can be stroked. If you dare, you can even feed them.

The perfect excursion destination for big and small

The Nöttler Berg wildlife enclosure is not just a special experience because of the animals. The large playground has everything a child's heart desires: chain carousel, slide, swing, trampoline and seesaw. There is also other play equipment scattered throughout the park. The many seating areas are ideal for a short break. While you take a break, you might be visited by the free-roaming animals, including dwarf goats, chickens or a peacock. And if you want to quench your thirst for knowledge, keep an eye out for the information boards along the way.

No matter what time of year - the wildlife enclosure is always worth a visit. In spring, the forest and the animals awaken again, in summer the trees provide shade, in autumn the forest turns into a sea of colour and in winter the snow makes the outdoor enclosure sparkle. The animals in particular look forward to seeing you in winter!

A highlight: many animals can be fed from your hand (note: only with the food available at the wildlife enclosure).

We have tested the Nöttler Berg wildlife enclosure for you

Our colleague Lisa made the most of the summer and visited the Nöttler Berg wildlife enclosure with her kids. There is a lot for the children to discover here: Wild animals, a playground and petting opportunities. A picnic is also on the programme, of course. Lisa tells us how they experienced the day on the MünsterlandBlog.
