Dümmert Park Picnic Area

The Dümmert Park picnic area is located directly in the beautiful town of Telgte. The park is a popular recreational area on the edge of the old town, directly behind the "Telgte triad", which consists of the pilgrimage chapel, St. Clemens Church and the Muesum RELíGIO. In addition, the park is bordered by two arms of the Ems, creating a kind of inner-city island that invites visitors to stroll, rest and picnic. Dümmert Park is also home to a well-known art object, the "Judas Kiss" by Dinnendahl.

Especially the red picnic elements (table-bench combinations) and the sandy beach "Klein Borkum" make for a relaxed picnic with holiday flair.

How to get there

Dümmert Park is only a few minutes' walk from the old town of Telgte.

Travelling by car:
Telgte can be reached by car via the A1 (Cologne - Bremen) or the A43 (Wuppertal - Münster). From Münster it is about twelve kilometres on the B51 towards Telgte. Guests are best advised to follow the signs to Emstor.
There is a large car park for cars, buses and campers at Emstor.

Travelling by bus and train:
Telgte is on the Münster - Rheda-Wiedenbrück railway line. From the railway station in Telgte it is about a ten-minute walk to the historic old town.
Lines R11 and R13 run from the main railway station in Münster to the centre of Telgte. The journey takes about 30 minutes.
