Picnic cooking course with film backdrop

An extraordinary picnic with a unique film backdrop in Dülmen can be found at the Family Education Centre. Here you can take a cookery course in a group and cook delicious recipes.
In the FBS training kitchen, you can prepare special snacks: uncomplicated, both traditional and modern, delicious and easy to pack for a picnic.

With the delicacies in the picnic boxes, you will drive to a beautifully situated picnic site with a film backdrop on an old, original farm in Münsterland, approx. 7 km from the FBS Dülmen. The hosts await you here and, after a brief introduction, you can enjoy the culinary delights in an idyllic setting. Let yourself be enchanted by the location and enjoy a relaxed picnic experience where gourmet delights, conviviality and a short journey into the past take centre stage.

Film set at the picnic

The van Beeck farm is located in the Dülmen farming community of Rödder and is at least 150 years old according to its interior inscription. The large entrance hall still has the old stables to the left and right and a door at the other end leads to the old living area with an open fireplace. The current owners have left everything in this part of the building in its original 1940s state.

In recent years, the farm has been the setting for various films. Scenes for the films "Unter Bauern - Retter in der Nacht", "Paula - Mein Leben soll ein Fest sein" and "Der einsame Hof" were shot here.

Meeting point: Entrance area of the Family Education Centre (Bült 1 | 48249 Dülmen), entrance via the ‘Markt der Möglichkeiten’
Participants are responsible for making their own way to the picnic area (Hof van Beeck, Rödder 106 | 48249 Dülmen).

The cookery course and picnic will go ahead even in bad weather. In that case, the picnic can take place in the farmhouse’s barn.

Optional: Bring a container from home so you can take any leftover picnic food home with you later!
