Building bridges between the Ruhr region and Münsterland
BahnLandLust Route

BahnLandLust Route

The BahnLandLust route connects the northern Ruhr region with Münsterland in a unique way. Large parts of the route from Dorsten via Reken to Coesfeld run through the charming Hohe Mark Nature Park. The gentle landscape of the western Münsterland is characterised by fields, arable land and small farm forests. In between, endearing villages and cosy farm cafés look forward to your visit.

By rail:

The RB 45 railway line runs from Dorsten in the south via Reken in a northerly direction to Coesfeld. The new cycle route repeatedly crosses the eight railway stations along this line so that you can easily hop on the train if you get tired, have a breakdown or if the weather is bad. No matter whether you want to cover parts of the route by train or perhaps the whole return journey, BahnRadeln is clever and fun.

The BahnLandLust route runs mostly on quiet farm tracks along places worth seeing and experiencing: exciting industrial culture, natural beauties such as the Hervester Bruchlandschaft, the wild horses of the Duke of Croy or the Heubachwiesen with mudflats and meadow birds, geese and amphibians as well as cultural sights along the route alternate and invite you to visit them.

Enjoyment is the order of the day in numerous country cafés and restaurants, at rest stops and adventure stations along the route, on a ride on the Kurbelfähre ferry, with a view from the observation tower on the Melchenberg and along the little river Berkel.
