Our cycle tour tips

Steveraue Olfen

Steveraue Olfen

The floodplains of the River Stever near Olfen have been transformed from agricultural land into a marvellous natural area. If you want to explore a fantastic floodplain landscape on two wheels, you've come to the right place! You can hire your Münsterland bike from the Steveraue Nature Park Centre. Then set off on the 8-kilometre cycle and hiking trail. Here you can discover the inhabitants of the local recreation area, such as Heck cattle and Konik horses. Together with the Poitou and Catalan giant donkeys, they graze on the banks of the Stever. The three-arch bridge is also a highlight and popular photo motif. The best place to take a break is the picnic area.

North Kichen Castle

Tourist-Info Nordkirchen

Only a few metres from Nordkirchen Castle is the MünsterlandRad station at the town's tourist information office. After a walk or a guided tour through the extensive park of the castle, a bike tour through the beautiful surroundings is recommended. The castle axis takes you to Westerwinkel Castle near Ascheberg, which is well worth seeing. Another highlight of the region awaits you with Vischering Castle in Lüdinghausen. The picturesque castle with its museum and gastronomy is one of the most popular destinations in Münsterland.

Göckes House and Garden in Wettringen

Göcke´s Haus und Garten | Wettringen

Göcke's Haus und Garten is the name of the MünsterlandRad station in Wettringen. Grab your bike and cycle to Lake Offlumer or Haddorfer See. In summer, don't forget your swimming costume.

Although there is no castle in Wettringen itself, it is not far to some of the most beautiful buildings in the region. Haus Welbergen near Ochtrup is still a real insider tip. The moated castle of Steinfurt is famous far beyond the borders of Münsterland - wonderful to combine with a visit to the old town. A special highlight is a cycle tour to Rheine with a visit to Bentlage Monastery and the Saline Park.

Romantikhotel Hof zur Linde

Romantikhotel Hof zur Linde | Münster

The Romantik Hotel Hof zur Linde is a charming country hotel just outside Münster, the cycling city. From here, you could go on a lovely cycle tour towards the city centre. This circular tour along the River Werse is also a great idea. But before you do, you should enjoy a romantic picnic in the hotel's own park by the Werse! There are four different picnic options to choose from.

Stephanus Brewery

Stephanus Brewery | Coesfeld

Typical Westphalian hospitality, regional dishes, freshly tapped Stephanus Bräu and an exuberant atmosphere: that's how Brauhaus Stephanus can be summarised in a nutshell. The pub is also a great starting point for a cycle tour, as it is very centrally located in Coesfeld. How about a ride on the RadBahn Route or the Sandstone Route?
