The Münsterland region is characterised by a unique blend of historical heritage, regional cuisine, thriving agriculture and unspoilt countryside. It is precisely this blend that brings the journey to life.

Short distances, a fixed place to stay and carefully selected regional attractions ensure a stress-free itinerary.

Lüdinghausen is the starting point of the trip and remains your fixed base for the entire stay. This means there is no need to change hotels every day or to transport your luggage.

This historic town, home to several moated castles, offers a fitting start to the travel experience on the very day of arrival. Vischering Castle, Lüdinghausen Castle, the River Stever and the old town are all close together and can be easily explored on foot or by bike.
After arrival, there is time for an initial stroll through the town. A regional welcome snack sets the tone for the days ahead. 

From Lüdinghausen to Nordkirchen Castle

After breakfast, the first e-bike tour begins through the typical Münsterland parkland. Quiet paths, fields, meadows and small villages line the route from Lüdinghausen to Nordkirchen.
Before setting off, a picnic rucksack packed with selected regional produce is prepared in Lüdinghausen and taken along on the tour.
The destination is the imposing Nordkirchen Castle. The Baroque castle complex, with its extensive gardens and parkland, provides a stunning backdrop for the first highlight of the trip.

At Nordkirchen Castle or near the Orangery, you can enjoy the Münsterland picnic you’ve brought with you in a special atmosphere. 

The route then takes you to a farm in the region. The focus there is on the production and processing of regional food.
Depending on the farm and availability, a hands-on workshop may be offered, for example on making cheese, butter, bread or other regional produce. In addition, participants can gain insights into agricultural production, the processing of raw materials and regional value creation.
A visit to the farm shop afterwards offers the opportunity to discover and purchase products directly from the farm.

From Vischering Castle to Senden Palace

The second day of the tour begins at Vischering Castle. This moated castle epitomises the region’s cultural heritage and is one of the most famous historic sites in the Münsterland.
A visit or guided tour offers insights into the castle’s history and its current use as a museum and cultural venue. Afterwards, the e-bike stage sets off towards Senden.
Along the route, you’ll encounter typical Münsterland landscapes as well as small villages, places to stop for refreshments and local businesses.

From Senden, the e-bike tour takes you back to Lüdinghausen and from there by public transport to Münster.
A bicycle rickshaw tour begins in the city centre. Along the way, you can discover the Prinzipalmarkt, the historic town hall, the cathedral and other sights.
The bicycle rickshaw combines comfortable travel with an immersive city experience. At the same time, there is plenty of time to learn about Münster’s past and present.

A treat with a view over Münster 

The day concludes with a visit to a restaurant offering panoramic views over Münster. Depending on the package booked, this can include a regional aperitif, a tasting of selected drinks or a light culinary snack.

• A bespoke gin-making session can be requested as an exclusive add-on. The actual feasibility must be confirmed before it is included in the bookable package.

The return journey to Lüdinghausen is by public transport.

On the way to see the Dülmen wild horses

The third day of the adventure takes us to the natural landscape of the Merfelder Bruch. This is where the Dülmen wild horses live, in a vast landscape of woodland, pasture and heathland.
The visit offers insights into the herd, their habitat and the unique history of the Dülmen wild horses. Information on wildlife, landscape conservation and biodiversity can be obtained from the information resources available on site.
Depending on the date and availability, the visit can be combined with a horse-drawn carriage or covered wagon ride. This also highlights the theme of horses as a defining feature of the Münsterland region.
