Baumberg Marathon Trail

The new hiking trail in the Baumberge mountains, which will be officially opened on 3 May 2026, stretches exactly 42.195 kilometres. And because it is the first hiking trail to be permanently marked over exactly this length, it is simply called the Baumberg Marathon Trail. Varied trail formats, attractive landscapes, wonderful views and above all: accessible to everyone at any time! Whether as individual athletic preparation for a marathon hike, such as the Baumberger Marsch, which is popular in the region, or as a hike in a group - you decide how you want to walk the trail, fast or slow, in stages or in one piece.

The Baumberge Marathon Trail runs from Havixbeck to Coesfeld, but can of course also be walked in the opposite direction. There are public transport connections in each of the towns. You will also find refreshment stops at regular intervals along the route - supermarkets in the town centres or cafés in special places such as Tilbeck Abbey, the Longinus Tower or Gerleve Monastery provide plenty of refreshment options. You will also find rest and tranquillity at the numerous beautiful viewpoints.
