Networking in Münsterland is climate country

Networking is an important component of the initiative. The "Municipalities Network Klimaland " provides direct, region-wide exchange opportunities, particularly for the climate officers of the municipalities and districts. A face-to-face meeting is held once a year for this purpose. Municipal climate officers can also exchange information continuously and easily via a digital exchange platform ("RuDi") . The Klimaland project team also organises specialist excursions and workshops on occasion.

Platform RuDi

The Klimaland team has created a closed group for municipal climate officers in Münsterland on the RuDi platform: "Kommunen-Netzwerk Klimaland". There you can post your questions or experience reports and chat directly with other members. To be included in this group, you must register with RuDi. The RuDi team will first check whether you work in the public sector. Once you have been authorised, please send a short message to the Klimaland team via RuDi chat or e-mail. WERKSTATT WÄRMEWENDE MÜNSTERLAND

WERKSTATT WÄRMEWENDE MÜNSTERLAND: The heating transition in Münsterland is picking up speed - together.

As part of the "Münsterland ist Klimaland" initiative, the first WERKSTATT WÄRMEWENDE MÜNSTERLAND workshop was held in September 2025 with around 20 municipal representatives. The aim was to enable local authorities to develop their own heating plans and systematically record the potential for heating networks. The workshop was initiated by Münster University of Applied Sciences, Hinnerk Willenbrink, an expert in municipal heat planning, and his team, who are using their tool F|HEAT tool, which provides a practical instrument.

Part 2 of the workshop: This is where things got practical: the participants used F|HEAT to create their own municipal heat plans - an important step towards mandatory heat planning
