Technological change, geopolitical uncertainties, climate change, skills shortages and disruptions to supply chains are presenting businesses with ever-changing challenges. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector, in particular, are increasingly having to adapt their processes and business models rapidly to changing conditions.

This is precisely where TOR@Münsterland comes in: the project supports companies in identifying risks and new opportunities at an early stage, making well-informed decisions and ensuring they are resilient and future-proof in the long term.

The focus is on two key areas:

Technological resilience

Harnessing technological change as an opportunity.

New technologies are transforming production processes, business models and markets. Those who recognise relevant developments in good time and assess their significance for their own organisation can capitalise on opportunities in a targeted manner and prepare for future changes. Technological resilience helps to secure organisations’ capacity for innovation and competitiveness in the long term.

Operational resilience

Remaining capable of taking action even in challenging situations.

Supply bottlenecks, production stoppages or staff shortages can significantly disrupt business operations. A resilient organisation is better able to cope with such challenges and adapt more quickly to changing conditions. Operational resilience helps companies prepare for potential disruptions and strengthen the continuity of their business processes.

What does this actually mean for businesses?

Digital tools, practical training programmes and the opportunity to exchange ideas with other companies offer the chance to identify technological opportunities, uncover potential for development and find suitable solutions to operational challenges.
