Borrowing instead of buying: Münsterland materials exchange launches

Whether loudspeaker boxes or VR glasses, exhibition counters or pavilions, display cases and chairs in large numbers: many things are only used a few times in the day-to-day work of cultural and tourism stakeholders. "Sharing instead of buying" is a sensible and sustainable solution here, says the Kulturbüro des Münsterland e.V. - and has therefore launched the Münsterland Material Exchange.

Requests and offers can be posted and managed free of charge on the online platform. "It's quick, uncomplicated and sustainable," says Andre Sebastian, Head of the Münsterland Cultural Office. "Many local authorities, cultural institutions and event organisers have technical equipment or furniture that remains unused most of the time - but is also temporarily needed by others. We want to close this gap with the equipment exchange." Private use of the loanable materials is excluded.

Detailed instructions explain every step from registration to lending and borrowing to making contact, while a comprehensive questions and answers page and a sample loan agreement provide additional help. Andre Sebastian is convinced: "This pragmatic and efficient use of existing resources supports ecological, economic and social sustainability goals in equal measure."

With the material exchange, Münsterland e.V. is expanding its range of demand-orientated offers. Picnic equipment can be hired as usual via the digital hire form. Exhibition equipment can also still be requested there.
