Ennigerloher Mill

A real eye-catcher in the heart of Ennigerloh: the historic windmill tells stories of times gone by - and is still a popular destination today. With its striking wings and beautiful location, it invites visitors to linger, discover and marvel. Things get particularly lively at the annual mill festival, when music, crafts and regional specialities make the mill a meeting place for the whole family. It takes place at Whitsun. The mill festival is organised by the Ennigerloh local history association, the Mühlenkinder association of the neighbouring kindergarten, the rural youth and the secondary school.

History of the Ennigerloh mill

The Ennigerloh windmill is a lovingly restored landmark of the town and a real gem in the Münsterland region. Today's mill already had several predecessors - the first was mentioned in a document in 1498. The mill, which has survived to this day, was not built until 1869 and is now a popular venue for guided tours and events. Inside, you can learn more about the technology and history of the mill trade on guided tours. The Ennigerloh mill works according to the principle of the Dutch windmill or cap windmill. It was in operation until the 1950s and ground grain for the region. After years of disuse, it was restored and is now a technical cultural monument. Thanks to volunteer commitment!

Around the mill, you will also find cosy walking paths and beautiful picnic areas - perfect for a relaxed family outing. Cyclists also like to stop off here - the mill is located on this route, for example.
