Along the Ems

The starting point of this 39-kilometre day trip is the "Greven an die Ems!" event area. From April to August, you will also find catering directly on the river here. From there, follow the Ems out of town.

You will soon leave the last settlement in the town of Greven behind you and reach the beautiful Münsterland parkland. The Ems is your constant companion on the route from Greven to Emsdetten. The river meanders through the landscape in numerous loops. You will also pass the Sachsenhof on your tour. It's well worth a visit! The open-air museum invites you to learn more about early medieval Saxon life.

Once you arrive in Emsdetten, leave the Ems cycle path and follow the Mühlenbach stream through the town. How about a detour to the Hof Deitmar museum island? A square with four museums has been created around the farm, which is considered the nucleus of the town. Each one is unique in its own way and displays special historical events from Emsdetten.

Then it's back on the bike: after a while you come to the former Max Clemens Canal. Follow this until you reach Westerode. From here, it is only a short distance to the starting point of the cycle tour.

End your day in Greven with a refreshing drink on the banks of the Ems and enjoy the wonderful ambience.
