Do you know Encaustic? This form of wax painting has its origins in Greek antiquity and means something like "to burn in".

Anita Reuter from Westerkappeln discovered this painting technique for herself over 25 years ago and has been burning for it (in the truest sense of the word) ever since. Watching Anita Reuter paint seems a bit like painting with an iron. The iron, however, is a painting iron with which the special painting wax is melted at a constant temperature. Wonderful pictures from postcards to large formats are created on encaustic paper.

In an exhibition at the Haus des Gastes, Reuter shows what she has produced over the past weeks, months and years. In addition, on several weekends, interested visitors can look over her shoulder while she paints and learn about the technique.

The opening will take place on Saturday, 11 March and will be accompanied by Heinz Detlau-Keire on the grand piano.

Lienen farms invite you to get to know them. The initiator is Tim Spitzer from Tims Hofladen. In addition to his farm in Holzhausen, Carsten Spieker (pigs), Michael Eickhoff (Limousin herdbook) and the Kätker farm (dairy cows and road) are opening their doors.

There is a funicular running between the farms, and the farms are also easy to connect by bike. You can get a tour proposal at the tourist information office.

Leisurely tour along cycling and hiking paths, fields and meadows in Lienen and the surrounding area. Experience the gentle animals up close on a leisurely tour. This is pure deceleration!

The tours are conducted with llamas and alpacas.

We start at the evangelical church for an Easter march with a fun egg hunt for the kids. Everyone is cordially invited to join us.

The Easter fire will be lit at approx. 7 pm at the Epmann company premises on Iburger Str. From 7 - 8 pm there will be a Happy Hour with family-friendly prices.

What does happiness mean? Am I happy? Can you take happiness into your own hands? Certainly not all questions about happiness can be answered conclusively, but you can try to get closer to happiness during the happiness hike. Our motto: "Happiness hike - today is your lucky day".

We will hike approx. 6 km, with various gratitude, mindfulness and strength exercises at selected stations. During the planned break you will have a picnic. Please bring your own picnic.

In all that time, over the decades, they have never stopped getting up to mischief: In pubs, shopping malls and at community festivals. Even at the cemetery, at the Bundeswehr and, of course, in their retirement home. From time to time, even some celebrities had to be used for their pranks. The two friends meet regularly on a bench in the park and are always ready to talk about their eventful lives. Now they are planning their very last prank. Who will they recruit for it? And who will it be?
