There is always something going on in Lienen all year round: wine festivals, open days, lucky walks and musical events set the mood in the community. A highlight in the calendar of events is certainly the "Holperdorper Kunsttage" (Holperdorper Art Days), an annual art show at the Gräbener/Winkelkotte artists' farm in the summer.

Our monthly get-together by the village pond. September is set to be a big month with the XXL Flea Market Day. The area around the water playground will host a hobby flea market for young and old alike. No registration or fee required! Just set up your stall and join in!
On the festival grounds by the Haus des Gastes, there’ll be a colourful mix of familiar and new stalls.
Plenty of seating will be set up again to encourage a sociable atmosphere, and the “Rock Oldies” will provide the musical entertainment for Lienendag!

Finally Oktoberfest at Malepartus again! Delicious Bavarian specialities, freshly tapped beer and lots of party atmosphere with the band Partymander and DY Matze.
The male choir Wir ha'm Töne says goodbye to the Wittmann house, the Wittmann family and Lienen-Höste. The big "thank you concert" takes place in the Wittmann hall.
The singers' "playlist" covers a wide range of songs from Hermann Löns to ABBA, Peter Maffay, Heinz Rudolf Kunze and Udo Lindenberg. The old hall will once again shine in a colourful light.
After that, almost 100 years of choral singing in Haus Wittmann will be history. The choir says goodbye to Lengerich, where rehearsals will take place in the Gempthalle from October.

Over 6,500 historic buildings across Germany open their doors on the second Sunday in September; this year, the event will take place on 13 September 2026. The theme of this year’s Open Monuments Day is ‘NETWORKS: Monuments & Infrastructure’. Germany’s largest cultural event offers those interested a free glimpse behind doors that are otherwise often kept closed.
In Lienen, the Heimatverein Lienen e.V., together with the night watchman, is offering comprehensive insights into the Protestant church. The church will be open on this day from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Guided tours, each lasting around 45 minutes, are scheduled for 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm. The ‘Nachtwächter’ tour includes a climb up to the top of the church tower. As the number of participants is limited, please register with Karla Voß on 0151 10646135. Where possible, walk-in visitors will be accommodated. Naturally, the guided tours are free of charge on this day.
