On Sunday 13 September 2026, a colourful children’s car boot sale will take place from 10 am to 2 pm in the school playground of St Sebastian Primary School. The Friends of St Sebastian Primary School in Raesfeld are once again organising the 14th children’s car boot sale. 

The young sellers will have the chance to haggle just like the grown-ups and offer their own treasures for sale. Parents and visitors are warmly invited to discover the creative items on offer and support the young entrepreneurs. 

Come along to the children’s flea market and enjoy a cheerful day full of fun and new encounters. 

Things are going to get a bit dicey today! How was the fire actually discovered? Where can I find some good tinder? And how do I manage to light a fire using a spark and a magnifying glass? Once the spark has caught, there’s bound to be some bread on a stick too!

The annual shooting festival organised by the Junggesellen-Schützenverein Raesfeld e.V. is taking place this weekend. Look forward to three days packed with tradition and a packed programme.

At dusk, you will meet up with our expert guide in the courtyard of Raesfeld Castle. There we will look at the historic site of stargazing, the castle's stargazing tower. As there are now too many light sources around the castle, we then make our way into the darkness to a meadow on the outskirts of Raesfeld. In the refuge there, you will receive a visual introduction to the night sky. Using mobile telescopes, you will then be able to unerringly spot everything in space that you would like to take a closer look at.

If you want to explain to children (but also adults) how wonderful and diverse nature is and how it works, you shouldn't create a Power Point presentation about it or give a lengthy monologue about the ecological interactions of a plant. In order to open up to the countless natural phenomena, a sensory-intensive and joyful approach to nature is required. Playful and holistic methods can easily spark real interest and curiosity.

In this course we will therefore experience many nature games that are fun and also serve to build up knowledge. Sometimes we will be in the forest and sometimes by the water. We also want to show how to realise nature conservation projects with groups, such as building nesting boxes, insect hotels or herb spirals.

The farmers' market at Stegerhoff Farm always takes place on the last Sunday in September.

Between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., visitors are presented with a wide variety of products at the stands of around 100 exhibitors. Many of the products on offer are regional and handmade.

With activities such as a treasure hunt in the hay and a bouncy castle, there is also something for the little ones.

Catering is also provided.

First of all, you’ll learn how to turn the forest itself and its natural features into exciting challenges. After that, you’ll head onto the obstacle course set up especially for you. It’s a wobbly business!
