The DRK blood donation service in Wettringen is urging the public to donate blood. The current supply situation for blood products is tense and threatens to worsen. The demand in hospitals remains high.
Around 15,000 blood donations are needed every dayto care for sick and injured people in Germany.
The volume of donations was already significantly too low at the beginning of the year due to the holiday period and the winter weather. The consequences are noticeable: stocks are dwindling. The stock range is shrinking and is currently only just under two days.
