Christmas markets in Rheine

When the cold season bathes the Emsstadt in a beautiful winter coat, it is finally time again for the Emszauber. From 22 November to 20 December 2023, the Emsplateau and the Milchstraße will be transformed into a focal point for young and old in Rhein's Winter City.

With Christmas lights and lots of treats, it's the ideal place to visit with your family, friends or work team. There's plenty to discover here, including the mulled wine lounge, dining area, live programme, after-work parties and much more.

With a colourful range of culinary delights, high-quality arts and crafts and Christmas lights, the St. Nicholas market attracts visitors to Rheine city centre. From 7 to 10 December 2023, you will find lovingly crafted gift ideas, including products made with Rheine salt or honey products from the beekeepers' association.

A highlight is the traditional visit from St Nicholas at 5 pm on Sunday. Accompanied by torch divers and angels, awaited by musicians and many children, he will come along the waterway to the market square to tell a story.
