The young maid Miktrinken is waiting for her guests on Sunday and welcomes "Mannsvolk, Frauleute und Kinnerkes" to her journey through time in the monastery complex in Hörstel. She talks about her life in 1803, when she worked as a maid for the nuns of Gravenhorst, and leads them through the rooms of the convent. She has exciting anecdotes to tell everywhere she goes. Between the storerooms and the dormitories, she talks more than the nuns of her time would have liked: about her experiences with the "fine Dämsken", their little dogs, about the schoolgirls at the convent school and about the fact that the nuns sang beautiful songs while making candles.
