Saerbeck Grain Distillery Museum

It is the only one of its kind in the Steinfurt district - the Saerbeck Grain Distillery Museum! Here you can find out how the traditional Münsterland double grain is made from simple cereal grain. An exciting journey through time awaits you in the former Dalmöller-Niehaus distillery: Discover the traditional craftsmanship of grain distilling and find out, among other things, what surprising connection there is between schnapps and cattle farming.

Take a guided tour into the world of distilling - including a look behind the scenes and a tasting session.

A distillery becomes a museum

The Dalmöller-Niehaus agricultural grain distillery was founded in 1812 and operated as a side business until 1976. Today, it is the only fully preserved distillery in Saerbeck and houses the museum. It combines heritage protection, technical expertise and modern presentation techniques under one roof.

You can explore the historic premises on a guided tour lasting around 60 to 90 minutes: From a tour of the Heimathaus to a visit to the distillery and an explanation of the distilling process. The tour ends with a tasting session where you can sample the Münsterland Doppelkorn.

Please note that the museum is not barrier-free and guided tours are only available by prior arrangement. Appointments are not possible on Sundays and public holidays.
