Do you enjoy gardening and love flowers and plants? Then the district educational garden in Steinfurt is the right place for you. Since 1914, the district educational garden has been teaching interesting facts about fruit trees, perennials, herbs and all kinds of other plants.
The paths in the Kreis Lehrgarten lead through lush greenery of countless different plants, from the cottage garden to the herb garden and on to the orchard. Over an area of 3 hectares, suggestions are given on garden design from planning to implementation. The ever-changing fragrances, the different shapes and dreamlike plays of colour are a true feast for the senses. While the 300 fruit varieties used to be the focus of the educational garden, today the garden as a "recreational space" is the focus.
The district educational garden offers garden tours and lectures on special topics. The highly sought-after courses show garden lovers many practical ways to choose the right plants and to successfully design and maintain their own garden. No wonder that more than 50,000 visitors come to the Kreislehrgarten in Steinfurt every year.
The district educational garden is open all day. When visiting the District Teaching Garden in Steinfurt, the usual hygiene and distance regulations apply. The seminars in the District Teaching Garden will probably be cancelled until the end of June.
