Asbeck Village Pond Picnic Area

The Asbeck village pond is situated in the picturesque parishof Legdenand is the perfect spot for a relaxing break by the water. Surrounded by greenery along the banks and aquatic plants, you can enjoy a picnic here and spend a few peaceful moments surrounded by nature. The small, idyllic pond is easy to take in at a glance and, with its natural vegetation, is a real eye-catcher. Seating by the water’s edge and in the surrounding green space make the village pond a lovely place to take a break, let your gaze wander and listen to the delightful lapping of the water.

The centrally located picnic area is also perfect for a quick stop-off on a cycle tour through the Münsterland.

Asbeck Sculpture Trail

The SKULPTOURA, a circular route of around 3.5 km through the historic collegiate village of Asbeck, begins and ends right by the Asbeck village pond. This varied circular route combines nature, culture and history. Discover historic wayside shrines and Stations of the Cross, the abbey mill, technical monuments, and a variety of sculptures and works of art.

Access & Parking

By car: Enter ‘Schöppinger Straße 2, 48739 Legden-Asbeck’ into your sat-nav. Parking is available a few metres further on at the Hunnenporte in Asbeck (Stiftsstraße 2). There are also two accessible car parking spaces by the village pond. 
By bike: The Asbeck village pond is easily accessible via the Münsterland cycle junction network. The various cycle junction routes 5, 6, 7 and 8 all pass by the village pond.
