Between Münster, Hamm and Bielefeld

Ennigerloh is located in the centre of the district of Warendorf near Beckum and Oelde, around 20 minutes from the district town. Münster is around 45 minutes away by car, and Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) is almost as quick. Bielefeld and Hamm are each around 40 minutes away by car, while Osnabrück is around an hour's drive from Ennigerloh.

Tip: The Münsterland is a cycling region! 4500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can easily commute to work by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.

Living in Ennigerloh

Around 12,000 of the town's 21,000 inhabitants live in the centrally located main town Ennigerloh, which gives the town its name, with its pretty historical town centre. The three districts of Enniger, Westkirchen and Ostenfelde are located to the west, north and east, just under a ten-minute drive from the centre. They are each home to around 3000 people.

Although rental and purchase prices are following the general property trend overall, there are still numerous niches to be discovered in Münsterland when it comes to building, buying or renting. Shopping in Ennigerloh

You can buy groceries in supermarkets and bakeries in all districts, and on Thursdays at the weekly market in Ennigerloh. In the city centre you can shop in shoe shops, a bookshop and furniture shops. As in many towns in the Münsterland region, Ennigerloh has fashion shops with well-known brands as well as some boutiques and concept stores. And of course you will find specialist bicycle shops almost everywhere, offering lots of accessories and new bicycles or e-bikes.

Childcare and schools in Ennigerloh

There are three primary schools in Ennigerloh with a total of five locations in all districts, so that the youngest pupils always have short distances to travel. The secondary school in the town is a site of the Ennigerloh-Neubeckum comprehensive school, which also offers the upper secondary school. There are secondary schools and grammar schools in neighbouring towns, for example in Beckum and Warendorf.

Working in Ennigerloh

The cement industry has a long tradition in Ennigerloh. Today, it is just one pillar of the diverse business location: metal and mechanical engineering companies, logistics providers, plastics processors, woodworking companies and other businesses have settled in the town. Large local companies include the pharmaceutical company Rottendorf Pharma and Phoenix Budosport, a wholesaler of martial arts equipment. Ennigerloh is also home to several manufacturers of upholstered furniture, such as the Johannhörster upholstery company and Poggel Polstermöbelwerkstätten. In addition, geba Kunststoffcompounds GmbH is one of the key players. The company develops and produces high-quality plastic granulates and has been one of the leading compounders of technical thermoplastics in Europe for many years.
