Boundless paths - dreamy romance
Isselburg

Welcome to Isselburg!

The approximately 10,000 inhabitants of Isselburg live in six different-sized districts with charming historic buildings. THE GOOD LIFE awaits you here between many sports and leisure activities in nature and the urban neighbouring town of Bocholt.

Münsterland meets Lower Rhine and Netherlands

Isselburg is located in the district of Borken in the western Münsterland, directly on the Dutch border. Its immediate neighbours are Dinxperlo in the Netherlands and the city of Bocholt. To the south, Isselburg borders on Hamminkeln and Rees on the Lower Rhine. You are well connected here in all directions: For example, the Dutch city of Arnhem with its many sights can be reached by car in only 45 minutes, and the district town of Borken is only half an hour away. Münster and Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) are just under an hour and a half away, Düsseldorf a good hour. Weeze Airport is 45 minutes away.

Tip: Münsterland is a cycling region! 4,500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can commute to work comfortably by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.

Living in Isselburg

The town consists of the districts of Isselburg, Anholt, Heelden, Herzebocholt, Vehlingen and Werth. Most of the 10,000 inhabitants live in the centrally located, eponymous district of Isselburg, around 4,000 in the second largest district of Anholt, where the magnificent Anholt moated castle is located. Around 1000 people live in Heelden and Vehlingen each, and just under 2000 in Werth. The smallest district is Herzebocholt with a few hundred inhabitants.
You can discover beautiful old buildings in the town, for example the historic town halls and windmills in Werth and Anholt or the historic fortified tower in the old centre of Isselburg.

Even if rental and purchase prices overall are following the general real estate trend, there are still numerous niches to be discovered in Münsterland for building, buying or renting. In the rural areas of Münsterland, the average rental price per square metre is between five and seven euros, and the average purchase price per square metre for flats and houses is 2100 euros.
