PRACTICE FORUM INTERNATIONAL EMPLOYMENT

How can we successfully attract international skilled workers on a sustainable basis, give them a warm welcome and integrate them in the long term? Alongside an expert presentation on the importance of intercultural skills in the workplace, you can look forward to practical insights from businesses, local authorities and other organisations. The practical forum offers plenty of scope for exchange and discussion, with the aim of talking through challenges together, sharing experiences and developing new ideas.

The event is aimed at HR professionals who wish to employ skilled workers from third countries or who have already gained some initial experience, as well as stakeholders from local authorities and other organisations active in this field.

HOW DOES THE SESSION FORMAT WORK?

There are two sessions: in each session, there are four topic slots to choose from. In addition to three prepared practical presentations, each session offers one open topic slot. For each session, you can choose one topic slot in which you would like to take part.

You decide on the two open topic slots! Bring along your own question, challenge or topic to be discussed in the fourth slot. The suggestions will be briefly presented, and the plenary will then vote to decide which two topics will be discussed in the sessions.

Each slot lasts 45 minutes. A short practical or specialist presentation of around 15 minutes sets the session in motion. Afterwards, there is plenty of time for questions, discussion and sharing experiences. The format combines prepared practical examples with the topics and questions that are currently on participants’ minds. 
 

ABOUT THE PROJECT NETWORK

The workshop series and the practical forum are organised by the Onboarding@Münsterland service in cooperation with the business development agencies of the districts of Borken, Coesfeld, Steinfurt and Warendorf as well as the employment agencies in Münsterland.

Our goals and measures:

  • SENSITISATION AND PREPARATION of companies for the employment of international skilled workers
  • DAY WORKSHOPS in the Münsterland districts and in Münster
  • PROMOTION OF PRACTICAL APPROACHES from recruitment to integration at the place of work and life
  • DEVELOPMENT OF A MÜNSTERLAND-WIDE NETWORK "BUSINESS WELCOME GUIDES" (LinkedIn group, network meetings)
