The energy crisis and ESG reporting obligations present the property industry with the challenge of providing consumption data for every building. This data is often not available or requires time-consuming manual data collection. With its innovation "SmartSustain", Eucon Digital GmbH from Münster has developed an AI-based tool that not only processes the data transparently, but also shows where there is potential for savings.

For their valuable idea, Eucon was honoured with the Münsterland Innovation Award in the "Digital Business Models" category.

An innovation for more sustainability

Electricity, water, gas: in times of climate and energy crisis, it is also important to reduce the consumption, emissions and costs of a property. In order to be able to analyse consumption data, it must first be determined. However, manual collection is time-consuming and prone to errors.

And this is where "SmartSustain" comes into play. The AI-based tool automatically extracts the data from utility bills and energy certificates and processes it transparently. This reveals where there is potential for savings. It also checks whether the manually determined data is plausible and complete - and is therefore far ahead of other tools.

In figures, this means that the data evaluation process is accelerated by more than 80 per cent and the quality increases to almost 100 per cent. This ultimately benefits not only landlords, but also tenants.
