Götz Alsmann, his band plus symphony orchestra!

He and his band have been backed by symphony orchestras for numerous songs that Götz Alsmann has released on his albums over the last twenty years.

The arrangements were penned by the band leader himself. The corresponding songs, hits and chansons were usually only heard "trimmed down" live.

But now there is finally an opportunity to experience a whole evening with Götz Alsmann and his band including symphony orchestra in the most opulent guise! On Friday, 22 August, the "festival:philharmonie westfalen" under the direction of Michael Zlabinger will perform together with Götz Alsmann and his band against the magnificent backdrop of Nordkirchen Castle.

A magnificent castle, fireworks in the sky, a picnic on the lawn and classical music: for more than 20 years, the large open-air music festival at Nordkirchen Castle has been one of the cultural highlights of the region and delights numerous spectators every year.

It is a summer evening full of contrasts: The baroque castle in the background, the classical sounds of the orchestra and the cosy picnic in the open air demonstrate the diversity of this multi-faceted event. The castle concert is accompanied by fascinating illuminations and impressive light choreographies.

On 22. August 2026 from 8 pm: under the direction of Viennese conductor Michael Zlabinger, the "festival:philharmonie westfalen" will set off musical fireworks in a class of their own and present selected bravura pieces from the classical literature in the magnificent cour d'honneur of the baroque palace known as the "Versailles of Westphalia", including the "Fireworks Music" by Georg Friedrich Händel, the "Dance of the Comedians" from the opera "The Bartered Bride" by Bedrich Smetana and the "Light Cavalry" by Franz von Suppè.

Around 4,000 visitors can look forward to a unique concert experience in an atmospheric setting under the title "SUMMER. NIGHT. MUSIC.", either in the picnic area or in the seated area. Tickets are available at www.musiklandschaft-westfalen.de and at the Nordkirchen Tourist Information Centre

Combined castle and park tours

Anna and Ines Walachowski have long been one of the leading piano duos of the present day. They have played in such important music halls as the Berlin Philharmonie and the Gewandhaus Leipzig. They have also performed at many renowned festivals such as the Rheingau Music Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival, as well as at international events. The sisters received their first piano lessons at the age of four and six respectively. They studied at the Hanover University of Music and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. "They play as if from a single mould", says the specialist magazine Pizzicato.
