The kult (culture and living tradition) in Vreden combines state-of-the-art architecture, culture, history and science under one roof. This makes it a very important cultural and historical hub for the region. In this building, old and new come together in an exciting combination. You will find a museum, a research area, historical archives, a library as well as the district's cultural and local history department. But it's not just education that's high on the agenda - lectures, concerts, exhibitions, film festivals and many other entertaining formats delight culture fans of all ages.
You can discover and learn a lot in the Museum des kults. The 1,400 m² permanent exhibition is dedicated to the theme of the border. Here you can learn more about the similarities and differences in the living and working environments of people in Westmünsterland and the Dutch region of Achterhoek.
The special exhibition is thematically colourful: from "Christmas" to "Cultural History of the Region", everything is here. You can gain an insight into the museum collections of the kult in the Schaudepot, the oldest part of the building. The tour continues to the historic farm complex, where you can immerse yourself in the historical building, living and working methods of medium-sized farms in the Westmünsterland region.

Finnish humour with "Heavy Trip"
There's something to laugh about here - and in two places at once: In cooperation with Filmwerkstatt Münster, the Münsterland Festival invites you to two film evenings and thus sheds light on the film country Finland. The team has selected two Finnish comedies that could hardly be more different.
One of the films will be shown on 12.10.2023: At the kult in Vreden, Finnish directors Juuso Laatio and Jukka Vidgren take the audience on a "Heavy Trip". In this comedy produced in 2018, everything revolves around the heavy metal band "Impaled Rektum" and their first concert trip to Norway. What follows is a chaotic road trip with crowd-surfing coffins, heroic Vikings and a rocket launcher conflict between Finland and Norway. A comedy highlight not only for metal fans.
Information on a possible supporting programme can be found on the festival website. In cooperation with the Filmwerkstatt Münster.
On 24 October, the documentary film "Eatnameamet" will also be shown as part of the Sámi theme evening.
A guided tour of the museum can be booked for an additional fee. Start: 5.30 pm.
The event is part of the Münsterland Festival part 12.
ERMÄSSIGUNGEN GELTEN JE NACH VERANSTALTUNG FÜR: Kinder, Schülerinnen und Schüler, Studierende, Jugendliche in der Ausbildung, Freiwilligendienstleistende, Menschen mit Behinderung, Arbeitssuchende und Sozialhilfeempfänger.
A Christmas potpourri by the Vreden children's choirs delights the spectators on the market square and invites them to get in the mood.

With a hot drink and a few treats, the whole family will be in raptures.
