Picnic area Sythen Castle

Schloss Sythen in Haltern am See is a typical Westphalian castle complex - without a castle, but with a lot of charm! Every Monday and Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. the doors to the idyllic garden open for a picnic. The "Pensioners' Band" of the Friends of the Castle gets to work in the garden and gives visitors authentic glimpses behind the scenes. Those who come at other times enjoy a picnic "ante portas" (in front of the gates) with the best view of the historic façade. Tables and benches are available nearby. Afterwards, we recommend a visit to the city centre or the city's reservoir , which invites you to swim or cycle around the lake.
