In Haltern am See there are numerous opportunities to spend a day on and around the water. Sailing, canoeing, rowing and paddling are permitted on the Haltern reservoir. Surfing is possible on the Silbersee II and the Dülmener See. No water sports are permitted on the Hullerner reservoir. Its quiet shores are best explored by bike or on foot.

The lido with its 800 metre long sandy beach offers the best conditions for swimming.
