Between the castle, the forest and the heath – a ride through the Münsterland around Lembeck Castle

Münsterland Ride around Lembeck Castle

The 10th Münsterland Ride takes you through the varied and enchanting surroundings of Lembeck Castle:the historic castle setting, tranquil woods and the open parkland of the Münsterland make this ride a special experience of nature.

The circular ride, which is either 25 or 35 kilometres long, begins at Lembeck Moated Castle. From the castle moats, the route leads through ancient tree-lined avenues, shady woodland paths and out into the vast parkland of the Münsterland. At the Erler-Heide horse farm, a group picnic on the green meadow invites you to pause, chat and refuel. Whilst the horses are being looked after, there’s time for good conversation and to take in the view of the vast landscape.

A day full of nature, encounters and special moments: a unique way to experience the diversity of the Münsterland region from horseback.

Information about the route

Detailed information about the route will be announced approximately one to two weeks before the event. We’ll also provide you with information here on using GPS for navigation and the final group allocations! If you’re registering on your own, please feel free to send an email to finke@muensterland.com letting us know which rider/horse combination you think would suit you best!

The routes will follow the extensive network of bridleways in the Hohe Mark Nature Park.

The A31 motorway runs between the starting point at Lembeck Castle and the lunch stop at the Erler Heide riding centre – please bear in mind when booking that we will be crossing this motorway twice on the day of the event. We will likely use an underpass once and a bridge once as part of the route. Your horse should be prepared for this!
