A circular tour through the Hohe Mark

The Hohe Mark Nature Park offers beautiful natural areas. You can experience some of them up close with your horse. The forest area between Dorsten-Lembeck and Haltern am See is a paradise for horse riders. In the shade of the old trees, you can expect beautiful forest and sandy paths, several hills and a dense network of riding routes. Ride through the extensive area on a trail ride and enjoy the peace and relaxation in the Hohe Mark Nature Park.

Your day ride in the Hohe Mark

On a good 16 kilometres, the circular route takes you on predominantly wide and sandy forest paths through the Hohe Mark. The starting point for the day's ride is the hiking car park on Granatstraße (K42/level Alter Weseler Weg). The actual starting point for the circular tour is 1.5 kilometres away and is located at "Schacht 9 der Zeche Auguste Victoria". However, this can be easily reached via the network of bridleways from the hikers' car park. You should definitely pack a picnic for your day in the Hohe Mark, as there are several shelters or the fire watch tower on the Galgenberg where you can take a break.

The circular tour shown here is a possible day tip for the Hohe Mark Nature Park. The two individual circular routes together form a loop of around 16 kilometres in length. The day trip can be shortened or extended thanks to the dense network of riding routes. With the Tourenplaner Münsterland, you can easily customise the day trip to suit your own wishes. For example, you could add a detour to Schloss Lembeck to the round trip. The possibilities are endless!
