Discover unknown treasures around Raesfeld

The 32 km circuit starts in Raesfeld at the town hall. Via the source of the Issel (255 km to the Ijsselmeer), the route heads towards Borken. Along the way is Haus Döring, an old "Burgmotte", the archetype of all Münsterland water castles. Afterwards you will reach the Marbeck home with a treading pool and the Engelrading house. The listed house, originally built as a castle for protection and defence, is privately owned and used as a farm. The route continues via Dorsten-Rhade, where you have the opportunity to take a look at the old water mill and/or plan a stop for refreshments. The rest of the way leads through a nature reserve back to Raesfeld. A detour to the beautiful Raesfeld moated castle with the highest castle tower in Westphalia (52.5 m) is always worthwhile. End the day with a leisurely stroll through the Raesfeld Castle Zoo.

Insider tip

Pröbstingsee in Borken

When the weather is nice, it's worth taking a detour to the Pröbstingsee. In the beer gardens on the shore of the lake you can forget about time and enjoy the day. A walk around the lake or a ride on a pedal boat open up new perspectives on the water and the shore.
