Leisure in Senden: from bread-baking to swimming

In the‘Venner Moor’nature reserve – renowned far beyond the town’s boundaries – you can go for a walk to enjoy the fresh air and explore the fascinating flora and fauna of the moorland. Only the chirping of birds breaks the silence in this charming landscape, and for a few moments, everyday life seems a world away.

As well as its diverse natural environment, Senden offers a wide range of leisure activities, such as swimming and relaxing at ‘cabrio Senden – Das Bad’, Swin-Golf at Hof Grothues-Potthoff, bread-baking in the bakehouse in the Ottmarsbocholt district, canoeing on the Stever or the Dortund-Ems Canal, and much more. What’s more, Senden’s cosy restaurants and numerous idyllic picnic spots along the canal promenade, at the harbour square and along the River Stever invite you to linger.

The highlight of Senden

An architectural highlight is, of course, Senden Moated Castle. Here you can enjoy a leisurely stroll and take in the surrounding countryside, or even join a guided tour from time to time.

We have tested the Grothues-Potthoff farm for you

Our colleague Victoria and our colleague Philipp were on site in Senden and took a look around the Grothues-Potthoff farm shop. After a short walk around the site, they treat themselves to some delicious cake on the sun terrace of the farm café. They then inspect the range of products in the farm shop. You can read all about their experiences and lots of background information on MünsterlandBlog.
