Pröbsting House on the occasion of the Palaces and Castles Day

Just a few kilometres west of Borken in the Hoxfeld district lies the small moated castle of Haus Pröbsting - once a knight's manor, then a farm and estate, later used as an educational institution and today the home of a private clinic.
The listed building, first mentioned in 1221 as a probationary estate of Vreden Abbey, is a jewel in the Münsterland park landscape. The beautiful "Pröbstingsee" recreation area with playgrounds and pedal boats is in the immediate vicinity.
