Between hills and forests

Several sights await you on the riding routes in the Baumberge, from Havixbeck via Nottuln, Billerbeck and Coesfeld to Rosendahl: Gerleve Abbey, which was elevated to abbey status in 1904, the stately Haus Stapel, where several spring streams join to form the Münster Aa, and Hülshoff Castle, the birthplace of the famous poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff.

The plain of western Münsterland stretches as far as Coesfeld and Rosendahl. A ride under the wide horizon is a real pleasure. The gentle landscape quickly makes you forget everyday life. The rest of the region is much more hilly. The heights offer marvellous panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Especially in late spring, the rapeseed fields are incomparably bright.
