On horseback through the Steinfurt countryside

Experience the typical Münsterland park landscape in the Steinfurter Land region. The route starts in Gronau at the Driländersee directly on the Dutch border. The Bentlage Monastery in Rheine is one of the highlights of the riding route. During a tour of the monastery and the exhibitions worth seeing, your horse will be perfectly accommodated in the paddock.

In between, picturesque wetland conservation areas, the many sandy paths in the Metelener Heide and the striking elevations of the Rothenberg in Wettringen are just waiting to be explored by you.

The landscape, characterised by the waterways of the Ems and the Dortmund-Ems Canal, spreads out beautifully before you. On the way towards Tecklenburg, you will pass the grounds of the Surenburg in Hörstel-Riesenbeck, which is known as a driving mecca and home to the internationally successful show jumper Ludger Beerbaum. A walk around the grounds is definitely worthwhile!

You ride past Haus Marck near Tecklenburg with the Tecklenburger Land mountain range in view. The surroundings with the royal ponds are extremely idyllic and peaceful - ideal for a trail ride.
