Many companies in Münsterland deal with innovation topics in health and bioanalytics. The use and development of "life science technologies" are particularly helpful here. On the scientific side, Münsterland is also a true beacon of the life sciences. The high level and diversity of the fields of activity is made clear by many players: Münster University Hospital, the Max Planck Institute Münster, the interdisciplinary research focus "Life Sciences" at the Westphalian Wilhelms University, as well as many neighbouring departments.
Environment analysis: The companies that were assigned to the innovation competence field of life sciences in the "Environment Analysis Enabling Innovation" are about 10 percent more innovative than the average participants in the survey (measured by the Münsterland Innovation Index). They represent about 38 percent more developed business models and 47 percent more innovations than the average.
Fields of action (Münsterland): Bioanalytics, Bioinspiration, Medical Solutions, Modern Care
Important actors: Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine Münster, Netzwerk Gesundheitswirtschaft Münsterland e.V., Gesellschaft für Bioanalytik Münster e.V., Cells in Motion Cluster of Excellence, Medical Faculty of the Westphalian Wilhelms University, Institute of Biochemistry of the Westphalian Wilhelms University.
Innovations make a region fit for the future - and often arise precisely where many bright minds from different fields come together. This is precisely the goal of the regional think tanks that will be created in spring 2020 within the Enabling Networks Münsterland project led by Münsterland e.V..
The think tank "Staying healthy - for a lifetime" is concerned with technological solutions from the field of medicine.
A long and healthy life is the dream of every human being. Medical and technological progress is now opening up completely new scope with which we can ensure people's health. In this context, it is becoming increasingly important to focus on the individual. Because every person is (genetically) different. This also applies to the probability of falling ill or the individual course of a disease. Modern technologies, for example from bioanalytics or digital medicine, make it possible today to tailor prevention, diagnostics and treatment to the individual.
The knowledge from theory and practice is available in Münsterland. Does the think tank provide the next impulse for better, individualised prevention of diseases from Münsterland? More...
