Münsterland meets industrial culture
Beckum

Welcome to Beckum!

In Beckum you have THE GOOD LIFE between a colourful cultural programme and many leisure opportunities in nature. The 37,000 inhabitants live in four different-sized districts.

In the southern Münsterland between Hamm and Bielefeld

Beckum is located in the south-eastern Münsterland in the district of Warendorf, about 40 minutes by car south of the district capital. You are well connected here in all directions: It takes just under an hour to drive to Münster, 40 minutes to Bielefeld and about half an hour to Hamm. From Neubeckum station you can take regional trains to Münster, Hamm, Bielefeld, Dortmund and Cologne/Bonn Airport.

Münster/Osnabrück (FMO) and Paderborn/Lippstadt airports are about an hour away by car.

Tip: Münsterland is a cycling region! 4,500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can commute to work comfortably by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.

Living in Beckum

The town of Beckum consists of the main town and three districts. About two thirds of the total population of 37,000 live in Beckum. The second largest district, with a good 10,000 inhabitants, is Neubeckum, which lies about 15 minutes by car north of the centre. Between Beckum and Neubeckum, on the shore of a pretty lake, lies the small district of Roland. It was built in the 1960s as a factory housing estate for the cement industry; today it is a lively village with a good 1000 inhabitants. Just as large is the village of Vellern to the north-east of the town centre, which was founded in the Middle Ages and has been a district of Beckum since 1969.

Even if rental and purchase prices overall follow the general real estate trend, there are still numerous niches to be discovered in Münsterland when building, buying or renting. In the rural area of Münsterland, the average rental price per square metre is between five and seven euros, and the average purchase price for flats and houses per square metre is 2100 euros.
