Borkener Landpartie
This tour takes you through the typical Westmünsterland park landscape - along meadows, fields and lots of idyllic scenery. There are also a few exciting highlights along the way!
You start at the tourist information centre in FARB, first through the park - the green lung of the town - and then in the direction of Marbeck, a district of Borken. Enjoy the vastness of the landscape on field and meadow paths. After a detour to the Marbecker Heimathaus and Haus Engelrading, you cross the Kranenmeer nature reserve and cross the Haart-Venn to Raesfeld and the "Freiheit" to the moated castle with its outer bailey, main castle and baroque castle chapel.
On the way back to Borken, you cycle through the farming community of Grütlohn with some old but charming farmhouses. It is relaxed and peaceful here - exactly what travellers are looking for. Before you return to the district town, you will pass Haus Döring. The old moated castle is reminiscent of times gone by.
Why not round off your tour in a café or ice cream parlour on the market square or visit the FARB, where you can see parts of your tour again "from above" on the city model.
