Cycle Tour - Monastery, Canal and Cliffs

The Ibbenbürener Radelrunde takes you along the cycle route network of the Münsterland cycle region on predominantly flat, often tarmac paths past fields and meadows and along the Ibbenbürener Aa.

On your tour, you will first pass Gravenhorst Monastery and later Surenburg Castle. While you can experience the DA, Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst from the inside, you should only admire Surenburg Castle from a distance as it is a private estate.

The route continues along the Dortmund-Ems Canal with a view of the westernmost part of the Teutoburg Forest. Close to the canal, the Loismann Botanical Gardens and NaturaGart, a 40,000 square metre garden and diving paradise, are well worth a visit.

Crossing the "Teutos" requires a bit of fitness. If you plan a short hike, you will be rewarded with an incredible view over the Münsterland region at the striking rock formation "Dörenther Klippen". Then it's back downhill and back to Ibbenbüren.

Families with children should definitely plan a detour to the summer toboggan run amusement park.
