In the very south of Münsterland, Werne has a great offer for cyclists. The starting point is almost always the historic market square. From there, wonderful cycle paths stretch to some of the most beautiful buildings in Münsterland. The castles of Nordkirchen and Westerwinkelcan be reached comfortably and with practically no ascents. Both can even be combined perfectly for a day trip by bike. Another highly recommended tour is along the Roman Route to Olfen and then on to the "three-castle town" of Lüdinghausen. Vischering Castle is a real jewel in the Münsterland castle landscape.
Cyclists will be impressed by Werne's great location. Why not cycle to Dortmund on the trail of industrial culture? The famous Maximilian Park in Hamm is only a few kilometres away and easily accessible by bike.
4,500 km of signposted cycle paths criss-cross the Münsterland. Werne can also be reached via the practical Wab system. The honeycomb system offers cyclists countless opportunities for cycling tours and circular routes through Münsterland.
