Silbersee II

Blue water, a beach with fine sand, the sun shining - what more could you want on a trip to a bathing lake? The Silbersee II in Haltern an See promises just that. Here you can go windsurfing, swimming, snorkelling, have a coffee and enjoy the view or simply take a stroll around the lake.

The Silbersee, idyllically surrounded by forests, is a real magnet for visitors, especially in summer. But with a 900-metre-long sandy beach and 65,000 square metres of water, there is plenty of space here!

What else you should know

Stomach growling? You can choose from a year-round catering service, the Maui Beach Club restaurant and several vending trolleys. Sanitary facilities with baby changing rooms and disabled WCs can of course also be found here.

Please note: You will need a ticket to visit the natural bathing area at Silbersee. It is recommended that you book the relevant tickets online before travelling.

Die Badesaison startet nach Behördenfreigabe. Danach ist der Badesee bei vorhandener DLRG-Aufsicht zum Schwimmen freigegeben. 

Das Strandgelände muss bis 21 Uhr verlassen werden!

You can book your ticket in advance online at www.silbersee2.com/de/tickets. You can also book a parking ticket in advance on the same website.

There are several car parks available at Silbersee 2. Car parks P1 and P2 are situated directly on the west and east beaches respectively. If necessary, car parks PA1, PA2 (both near the L551) and PA3 (the car park at Prickingshof) will be opened. You can book your parking ticket in advance at www.silbersee2.com/de/tickets/.

Please note that it can get very busy around Silbersee 2 during the holidays, at weekends and on public holidays. Allow plenty of time for a stress-free journey, or use public transport to get there.

The maximum dimensions for vehicles in the car parks around Silbersee 2 are 6 metres in length and 2.3 metres in width. Overnight stays in the car parks are not permitted.

Dogs are not permitted at Silbersee 2.

The water quality of the lake is generally very good and is checked regularly. You can find the current status here:

Swimming in Silbersee 2 is permitted only within the cordoned-off area (please note the buoys) and only when the DLRG lifeguard station is manned and the DLRG flag is flying.

There are toilets on the east and west beaches.
