Four Seasons Park

In 2001, the Four Seasons Park in Oelde was the venue for the most successful state horticultural show in North Rhine-Westphalia to date. Today, the Four Seasons Park in southern Münsterland still attracts numerous visitors who continue to be enthralled by the splendour of the flowers and numerous events.

One park - three themes

The Four Seasons Park is divided into three themes. The "Floodplain" theme was created by a newly created floodplain lake and the renaturation of the Axtbach stream. The "Park" theme includes the extensively modernised city park and the KLIPP KLAPP children's museum. In the far north of the Four Seasons Park, former allotment gardens and cemeteries form the "Gardens" theme. The theme gardens are connected by the approx. 2.5-kilometre-long promenade path.

A park paradise for children

The length of the promenade path also makes it clear how large the grounds are. In total, the Four Seasons Park covers 44 hectares. That leaves enough space to offer something for everyone. Children are not only delighted with the "Klipp-Klapp" children's museum, but are also completely in their element on the many playgrounds, the raft ferry or the forest discovery tour.

The forest stage in the Four Seasons Park is a regular venue for attractive concerts and events. These also include cheerful family festivities, whether in spring amidst lush nature, in summer surrounded by jugglers and artists, at World Children's Day in autumn or the wonderful fun on the ice rink in winter.

A special destination for your picnic is the Four Seasons Park in Oelde with thousands of flower bulbs and horned violets. It goes without saying that there are plenty of places to sit and relax. On Thursday, 19 November 2026, at 4 pm, the assembly hall of the Thomas-Morus-Gymnasium in Oelde will be transformed into a stage brimming with imagination, courage and a child’s sense of adventure: At the invitation of Forum Oelde, the Westfälisches Landestheater is presenting the captivating children’s play “Lotta kann fast alles” – a heartfelt tribute to Astrid Lindgren’s famous little heroine.

“Lotta kann fast alles” is a heart-warming, humorous theatrical experience about self-confidence, solidarity and the power of a child’s imagination. A play that delights children and moves adults.

The children’s play is recommended for children aged 4 and over, lasts approximately 60 minutes and is performed without an interval.

It’s that time of year again in December. The ice rink, offering skating fun for young and old, whether you’re an expert or just starting out, will be set up in the Vier-Jahreszeiten-Park.

Walkers, skittles clubs, work colleagues and accompanying spectators can also enjoy the winter fun and cosy atmosphere whilst tucking into warm drinks and food, either right by the ice rink or in the rustic alpine hut.

Are there car parks at the Vier-Jahreszeiten-Park?

Free car parking is available near the main entrance.
There are free disabled parking spaces directly at the main entrance.

Is there catering at the Four Seasons Park?

The café-restaurant “Heinrichs Enkel” is situated right at the entrance to the Four Seasons Park. When the weather is fine, the large terrace offers a lovely view of the park. You can visit the restaurant even if you haven’t paid to enter the park.

Are dogs allowed in the Four Seasons Park?

Dogs are not permitted in the restricted area of the Vier-Jahreszeiten. Assistance dogs are permitted provided they are accompanied by proof of their status and are clearly identified.

Are there any picnic areas in the Four Seasons Park?

The Four Seasons Park offers uniquely designed picnic huts, each accommodating between 10 and 15 people. This means you can carry on with your picnic undisturbed, even if it rains. The picnic huts can be booked in advance.

Please note that barbecues are not permitted in the picnic huts.

Can handcarts be hired at the Vier-Jahreszeiten-Park?

For a fee, you can hire a handcart at the entrance to the Four Seasons Park to use during your visit.
