1. Prepare the pumpkin purée: Wash the Hokkaido pumpkin, remove the seeds and cut into small cubes. Cook in a little water or steam until soft. Then purée until smooth. You will need 80 g of ready-made pumpkin purée for this recipe.
2. Prepare the spice mixture: Place the pumpkin purée in a saucepan with maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and vanilla extract. Add a little milk and stir everything together thoroughly.
3. Heat the milk: Add the remaining milk and heat the mixture slowly whilst stirring, but do not let it boil. For a particularly creamy consistency, briefly froth the mixture with a hand blender.
4. Add the coffee: Make four fresh espressos and stir them into the warm pumpkin milk.
5. Serving: Divide the Münsterländer Kürbisgold between four large, heatproof glasses. Whip the cream, spoon it on top of the drinks and sprinkle with a little cinnamon. Decorate with a cinnamon stick if desired.
Picnic tip: Fora cosy autumn picnic, you can prepare the Münsterländer Kürbisgold at home and take it with you in a pre-warmed thermos flask. Transport the cream separately, well chilled, and only add it to the drink just before serving.
