Smartphones are key tools for cultural communication - especially for short video formats in social media. This compact course shows how original Instagram reels can be realised in a technically and creatively convincing way. The focus is on the safe use of smartphones, wireless microphones and selected apps as well as aspects of camera work, image composition and sound quality. Storytelling and strategies for increasing reach are also included.
The format is designed as an input event with illustrative examples. In addition to technical expertise, specific tips for planning, producing and publishing reels are provided. The aim is to gain more confidence in mobile video production and to specifically improve the quality of your own short videos.

A smartphone is not absolutely necessary, but you are welcome to bring one with you and use it to try out the learning content.

Target group

The event is aimed at cultural players who want to create Instagram reels professionally. No prior knowledge is required; both beginners and participants with initial experience will benefit from the training.

Speaker

Simon Jöcker studied directing at the Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood. He then gained professional experience as a documentary filmmaker at ARD, ZDF and production companies in Berlin and Munich. After winning major industry awards at festivals in Hollywood and throughout Europe, Jöcker set up his own company, WOWfilm, in his native city of Münster. With his company, he produces audiovisual media ranging from image films and social media clips to animated explanatory films.
