Extreme right-wing and right-wing populist positions are increasingly presenting cultural players with concrete challenges - both in public relations work and in event organisation. This face-to-face event offers space to categorise typical situations and strengthen confidence for everyday professional life.

The workshop will focus on different manifestations of right-wing extremist influence in cultural institutions. The focus will be on extreme right-wing hostility in social media, for example in the form of shitstorms, but also the manifest disruption of events or problematic requests to cultural institutions that aim to fundamentally delegitimise their programmatic orientation. A common clarification of terms creates the basis for being able to better categorise phenomena such as right-wing extremism or corresponding social movements. Building on this, strategies for action and ways of positioning oneself will be developed and support services presented.

The event is practice-oriented and designed for a manageable group of interested parties who are primarily involved in public relations work, programme design and the planning and implementation of cultural events. Participants' own experiences, questions and specific case studies, which are collected in the run-up to the event if possible, form a central working basis. The aim is to develop options for action in the sense of a human rights-orientated attitude and to support cultural professionals in being able to act in a positioned and confident manner in the "worst-case scenario".
