Welcome to Saerbeck!

In Saerbeck, THE GOOD LIFE awaits you in a lively village community with many leisure opportunities in the countryside. The Münsterland parkland with its many farms stretches around the village centre, where most of the 7100 inhabitants live. Saerbeck also stands out as an official "NRW climate community".

A rural community between Münster and Rheine

Saerbeck is located in the northern Münsterland in the district of Steinfurt. Münster, Osnabrück and the district town of Steinfurt can all be reached by car in half an hour. You can also reach the Netherlands quickly from here: The popular shopping city of Enschede, for example, is just an hour's drive away. You can also reach the North Sea coast in just two hours via the nearby motorways.

And if you like to travel further afield: Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) is only 15 minutes away.

Tip: Münsterland is a cycling region! 4,500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can commute to work comfortably by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.

Living in Saerbeck

Around the village church in the centre of Saerbeck there are several shops, cafés and restaurants as well as a small park. The village centre is adjoined by housing estates where the approximately 7100 inhabitants of the municipality live. To the west of the village centre is a small commercial area with supermarkets and a few businesses, while a larger industrial area lies to the north-east outside the village. To the south-west is the popular bathing lake. There are still a few farms in the countryside around the village, which were the most important economic factor in the middle of the 20th century.

Even though rental and purchase prices are following the general property trend overall, there are still numerous niches to be discovered in Münsterland when building, buying or renting. Here you can find the average purchase and rental prices for a house or flat in rural Münsterland.

If you would like to buy a building plot and build a house in Saerbeck, you can find out more on the municipality's website.

Did you know ...?!

For a few years now, Saerbeck has officially been allowed to call itself a "NRW climate municipality". The municipal administration, investors and citizens have jointly developed and implemented a climate protection concept that has received an award from the NRW Environment Ministry. In the bioenergy park, for example, which was established in the landscape north of the village, wind, sun and biomass now generate three times as much electricity as the community itself needs. In addition to expert lectures and workshops, guided tours on the topic of the climate community are also offered.

Working in Saerbeck

Saerbeck as a business location is characterised by a mixture of trade, agriculture and industry. The industrial estates are home to mechanical engineering companies, plastics manufacturers, a software company and metalworking businesses, among others. The Saertex Group, whose products are used in aircraft construction, the automotive industry and wind turbines, and the biogas plant manufacturer EnviTec Biogas are among the major companies in the area.

The bioenergy park, which sees itself as a centre of excellence for renewable energies, is home to both companies and research institutions that support the energy transition.
The site is also characterised by Enapter: the company develops and produces highly efficient hydrogen generators based on AEM electrolysis, making a significant contribution to the production of green hydrogen as a climate-friendly energy source.
