Cycle tour "Between forest, water & castles"

The tour starts in the centre of Raesfeld and leads north through wide landscapes and green nature to the Pröbstingsee lake. Once here, you have the opportunity to take a look at the listed Haus Pröbsting before reaching the lake. The leisure centre offers numerous opportunities, especially for sports enthusiasts: From swimming to pedalling and rowing boat trips to the climbing forest. Once you reach the end of the lake, follow the Bocholter Aa for a short while before making your way to Rhede.

The quaint little town advertises itself with the slogan "The smile in Münsterland" and offers impressive architecture in the form of St Gudula's Church as well as the privately owned Rhede Castle. Before making your way to the Bocholter Aasee lake, you cross the city forest in Bocholt. With its old trees, ponds and wildlife enclosures, it serves as a green recreational area. You cross the forest before heading to Bocholter Aasee. From here, it is worth making a detour to the shopping centre or the nearby textile museum.

The way back to Raesfeld takes you past fields, meadows and forests through the Münsterland parkland. A detour to Marienthal, a gem on the border between the Lower Rhine and Münsterland, is well worthwhile. Two absolute highlights await you at the end of the route: the historic Renaissance-style zoo and the imposing moated castle of Raesfeld.
