Cycling in Südlohn

In Südlohn you can cycle along old smuggler trails. Cycling tours to Winterswijk in the Netherlands are particularly popular. The market is one of the most beautiful in the border region. Away from the major traffic flows, the cycle paths wind through the western Münsterland region with almost no climbs. Borken and Gemen Castle as well as the Westphalian Bell Museum in Gescher are beautiful destinations for a day's cycling.

The Flamingo Route takes you to the greatest treasures of nature in the German-Dutch border region between Enschede (NL) and Borken (DE). A special highlight is certainly the northernmost flamingo breeding colony in the Zwillbrocker Venn. But the numerous other nature reserves and the diverse sights also make the Flamingo Route a very special experience.
